Nanny 101!

So, i’ve just experienced my first 24 hours as a soon to be ‘Nanny, Au pair, glorified babysitter, whatever you will.’

– For those of you unaware, i’m in Naples to help my Godfather by looking after his soon-to-be 3 year old. Ruby. His wife, Suzy, is an air hostess and works away for 3 weeks and is then home for 6. So i’m here in Naples to help in the 3 weeks that Muma Suz’ is away.

Fortunately, Suzy is here to help me for 3 days before she jets off to Dubai and LA. Today I have just followed Suzy’s footsteps and shadowed to see how the day runs. As all 3 year olds are, Ruby, is an early riser. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays we will need to be up and out for Nursery by 7:45am and then she is picked up at 2. My job will be getting her up, fed, dressed and off to nursery, picking her up when needs be, and then entertaining her for the evening before shower and bed. A very busy day indeed! I was lucky enough to experience ‘Nap time’ today and was able to grab myself an hour whilst we all had a lovely Italian Siesta’.

Rooster and I.

We’ve since come home, had some lunch and been to the local supermarket, chosen dinner and just had a lovely dog walk in the evening sun. It’s definitely going to be a learning experience as i’ve never really properly been a ‘live in Nanny’, i’ve had experience before in being an after school carer, babysitter, and i’m confident with working with children due to working in primary schools for the last 6 years.

I’m really excited to see how it goes and i’ll use this blog to keep you all up to date with our adventures!

Wish me luck.

Ciao Bella’ ❤️
